Card should be cut as fast as possible with as little power as possible because it burns so easily.
"One last bit on cutting cardboard. It's better to do a couple of test cuts, maybe just a small square. Do it very fast first, if thats no good slow it a little and try again. Eventually you'll find the speed which is JUST slow enough to cut. If you go slower lower than you need to you will get charred edges. Also, don't assume because the cut has finished the burning has too, it's very easy for the underside of the cardboard to smoulder and catch light again. When the cut is done take the cardboard off the laser and check all edges to make sure nothing is glowing before you go off and do something else."
