Training Requirements

Whilst all use of Tools and Equipment is at your own risk each one will have a colour code denoting how much knowledge is required to operated it

  • RED - You must be inducted by the maintainer / trainer and signed off as being competent
  • ORANGE - You must read all the provided information and assess yourself as being competent of using the tool safely, if in doubt ask the area maintainer or other member for help
  • GREEN - Fill your boots


Ender 3

Training Requirements - ORANGE

Specifications for Creality Ender 3:

Files are sliced in Cura (on 3D print room PC) and put on SD card for printing

CR-10

Training Requirements - ORANGE

Files are prepared on Chitubox on the 3D room PC and transferred by USB stick. The touch screen on the Phrozen controls printing from USB stick.
Purchased in Xxxxx for £XXX.XX using Hackspace funds.

Purchased in July 2022 for £508.00 using Hackspace funds.


Anycubic Wash & Cure 2.0

Training Requirements - GREEN
Wash and Cure station for use with DLP prints. Filled with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA).

Wanhao d7 - Currently out of commission

Raspberry pi runs NanoDLP, which is the software which sends the 'plates' to the printer. Connect to NanoDLP from the hackspace computer, or on a computer on the same network
Purchased in November 2017 for £610.16 using money pledged by members £356 and Hackspace funds.

Comparison of 3d print filament materials

PLA

biodegradable, lower temperature, less toxic. specific brands vary considerably (~10%?)

ABS

more toxic, stronger? needs heated bed

Resin: white

brittle, not as strong, needs UV curing (in water) after print

Resin: 4K Grey

not so brittle, stronger, needs UV curing after print
