Revision as of 16:47, 12 October 2021
The day they really want us to cover is Tuesday 26th October, which is "Engineering Day". They have offered (and Percy has suggested) the Monday 25th which is "Digitech Day". So we need to cover 26th, and if we can cover 25th even better.
It's worth remembering that this will be half-term, so lots of excited children about.
Between 9:30am and 10:30 is advertised as "Quiet Hour" in the exploratorium, next door, so we might need to be careful with what equipment is running at this time.
At past Forum events people start drifing in around 9am till 5pm, but it's 10am till 4pm that is busy. Ideally, we need to set up around 8am.
Contents
Area Setup
Total Area 4m x 3m, two power sockets (we need to bring extention leads), wi-fi (Library and Forum,) they can provide tables.
Food / Drink wise, the Forum has an excellent coffee shop and they have never been bothered about taking cups to the stands.
Equipment to bring on day
It will probably be best to set this up at the Hackspace a few days ahead as everything has to be moved to the Forum either very late the day before or very early morning on the day. Ideally we want to move everything in as quickly as possible.

- Tom G - I’ll do some demo stuff with my diy 8-bit computer if you want anything else? I’ve got a line following robot too as a demo
It runs off a atmel 1288p-pu and boots straight to BASIC. The BASIC is very very basic with very few instructions and no floating point numbers.
- Barny R - I'm off work that week, so I'll either be about or i'll be away. If I'm about, I could bring in the Pen plotter as well.
