== How to use the Circular saw safely ==&lt;br /&gt;
===== Before you start =====&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1. This saw is dangerous to use – use only after you have been inducted and feel confident using it&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2. Wear PPE – glasses and ear defenders minimum&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3. Stout footwear – recommended&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
4. Do no wear jewellery including rings&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
5. No dangly bits be they clothing or hair&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
6. Do not rush – make sure you have plenty of time to do the job and tidy up after&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
7. Do not use when tired – very common cause of accidents&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
8. If you are in doubt ask for help&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===== Plan your work =====&lt;br /&gt;
1. Design your work before you start –&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2. Plan your cuts&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3. Make sure have sufficient material&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
4. Measure twice cut once – it is safer when you are calm – you are not calm if you have made the wrong cut&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
5. Is the saw setup correctly – right blade, riving knife fitted, extraction working, push stick at hand, enough room to cut the work&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
6. Is there somewhere to put the wood before you cut it and somewhere for the finished wood&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
7. Practise switching machine on and off&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=== Making your cuts ===&lt;br /&gt;
1. Adjust saw blade to correct height&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2. Set rip fence or mitre guide&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

3. Start extractor&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
9. Stand to one side&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
10. If saw makes funny noise – stop, switch it off, when blade has stopped investigate&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
